That's not as annoying as the robo-posters who post 200-300 market reports back to back, and clog up the home page.

I have no problem whatsoever with the Varmints' Nailie Award!
It has become part of our community culture here, and besides that they have so many GD points I don't think they really care if they're racking up 25 here and there for making somebody feel good about the information that they imparted.

Even if the word count was changed, it would not stop those who are robo-posting comments. They will continue to do what they do with 25 words.

I think it's fine. At least the member you refer to is reading other comments and not just responding with gibberish. They are acknowledging what answer aligns with their own thoughts. I don't want people making comments just to meet a word count. One or two word responses are fine if they are approproiate to the question.

Comments on questions have a one-character minimum. Comments on blogs have a 10-word minimum. So, on the blogs, "XYZ nailed it!" wouldn't get them any points.
In Q&A, I just focus on giving an appropriate response/answer, then reading & upvoting the good answers!

There actually did used to be a minimum word count on comments on blogs (not here in Q&A though that I know of). I think it was 10. There even was a counter on the comment box so you could know if you'd made the 10 or not. I'm unsure why that requirement went away. I honestly don't care how long comments are. I actually like seeing who that member thought "nailed it" and I usually find the comment to see what the person said. It's also fun when you are the person that nailed it. :-) -K

Are you talking about answers or blogs? For blogs they need to be 10 words long. For questions, sometimes a "no" suffices.

Yes, and other members that simply reply "good luck" or "yes" and "no" to 99% her posts in Q&A.
And other members that copy & paste on all my listings posts and so forth.
I do it back to them to give'em a taste once in a while, but who has time for that nonsense.

No... "XYZ nailed it" only works for points in the Q&A section and sometimes 25 words are not needed. Many spend enough time here each day without having to increase the amount of time we need to spend writing comments. At the end of the day, for those who make silly comments just for the points, it's their loss... it's not like they can spend those points somewhere.

Martin Kalisker - There are more than 300,000 members and each of them may have a different goal for their blogging here in 'Rain.
Let them do what they do, within the given framework - and let us do what we should.

I have one Broker who always says "tell me in 10 words or less"...
My problem is I always hear "tell me in 10 pages or more"...
I don't feel that all questions require a 25 word answer... if a short 3-4 word answer is sufficient... so be it.. if it requires 2 pages then 2 pages it is...

I don't have as much of a problem with that, but the robo-posters. How does anyone do any business posting that many a day? This also tells others, if they are doing it, it must be working, and now seeing a few others jumping on doing so many posts a day. Someone should put a limit on them.
