So are you saying that you actually get a portion of your commission before the transaction closes?

You'd want to check your employment contract and talk to an employment attorney if you have any questions.  There are several good ones in our state.

I, too, am in California. Our arrangement is to get paid at close of escrow. No one but you will know the details or your arrangement with your broker.
