It depends on the individual.  I feel relatively safe but I guess ignorance is bliss as they say. 

I prefer security cameras and other diversions that seem to be working.

All of these look impressive although from a practical standpoint well thought out  low tech security that takes time to thwart and bypass is your best bang for the buck. Keeping a burglar busy for 30 seconds to a minute while attempting entry will have him / her looking elsewhere. 

Security cameras that detect motion and can be monitored from anywhere.

Of course when you receive notification and happen to be 113 miles away, one must ask 'How's that tech work'n for you?"

Neighbors with untrained dogs on a chain and motion activated lights go a long way in discouraging opportunists. 

For personal convenience, I do like "Keyless' entry systems.
