Thanks for posting..I wondered why when commenting I did not get points, so I guess I know why

For Q&A answers I don't think there is a minimum.  You can even get points by doing this:

50 words for a blog, a reblog doesn't require any introductory words. Since I don't leave one-word comments on comments, I have no idea if there is a minimum. I don't know about the Q&A word count.

I believe it's 50 words for a blog. 10 word minimum for comments. No minimum for Q&A. No clue about reblogs as I rarely do them, but when I do I always have more than enough to say.

Actually I have no idea.... and i never just type one word.......

reblogs used to have a 25 word minimum but at some point that vanished. The rest of 50 words on post, 10 on post comment, and 1 character here are correct.

This brings up a good point; no pun intended. 

Some people seem to be just writing the very minimum to get the points and not contributing to the conversation at all. And these are people that already have the 500,000 and have free accounts. 

And, some people write two different comments on the same post to get additional points.

I always thought comments required 10 words, but that may have been in the good old days.... I continue to use it.

for blog posts, the word count minimum is 50....

I don't know the other answers, and mine may be wrong.... 

I thought it was 50 words for posts, 7 words for comments and no minumum for Q&A's. Then again, I do not follow it that closely!

Fred, it doesn't seem consistent to me. I have left comments over 10 words and no points and I am under the comment max number.

50!? That's for a blog post? Geez, talk about terse.  Most of my blog posts are 500 words with gusts to 900. 

Oh boy, Fred Griffin. Worthwhile questions, indeed. I learned this the hard way. After weeks (actually no, make that months) of posting blogs featuring infographics (with maybe 20 words or less) I finally noticed I was receiving zero points for content the marketing team and I had so tirelessly worked on to share with folks. #knowledgeispower(and empowerment at getting closer to the coveted and seemingly elusive 500,000 points) - Tim

There used to be a count for comments, and there was even a counter on the comment so you could make sure to write a long enough comment. I think there is no requirement for length anymore. Nothing for reblogs. 50 words for blogs. None for Q&A. I think I'm right. But, could be wrong. -Kasey

50 for blogs and I believe reblogs as well.  Comments are 10 words.  No limit on answer length.

Blogs can be as few as 50 words. 

# Points have nothing to do with how successful one is.   

Even tons of blogs flooded www with not useful info will not receive calls. Often search engine penalizes them lump them together. It is really quality work that counts.

Did not know there were any for reblogs but 50 for our blogs.

The only one I knew was for the blogs, had to read for the rest.

What's the minimum number of points someone has to get on this platform to not care or keep track of them anymore?  (Other than the 500,000 to get a free account.)  That's the real question.
