I am not with eXp anymore - if that gives you the answer.....
Though I believe it is always a personal choice. Being relational, as well as I love to mentor, train newer agents, I was not comfortable with everything online. I wanted the environment where I can meet and see other agents - and it's just me,
As I said everyone is different. If you like complete 'online' experience,

I've dealt with some here in NC & SC - they are much like RE/MAX without the international name. They do/pay for their own marketing and the agents work from their home offices as many of us do with RE/MAX. I had great experiences with the ones that I've worked with thus far.

I've heard of them vaugely while looking up an answer for someone a few weeks ago. I've not worked with any of their agents and I'm not sure if we have any out here. Given that I have my own company, I'm not looking for a change.

If you're looking to earn a recruitment override, than this might be a brokerage to look into. ActiveRain member Brad Andersohn had joined Exp a while back.
One more thing; Be open to talk to recruiters and brokers of any brokerage you're considering. Nothing to be afraid of, you can always fact check them.

anyone's opinion should not be important.... you must interview properly and make decisions based on YOUR instincts and what you heard for answers to you questions....ask questions of management....

Best to call realtors under that brokerage. Ask what they like and dislike about the broker. Be mindful of agents who try to recruit.

real estate is local, inclusing affiliation with a regional or national brokerage and as Nina Hollander said would not opine an opinion here.

I don't know enough about it other than the costs (retainage of the broker) is very limited. I do not know what support systems they have in place.

Hello! I know it's been quite some time since you posted this question, but just in case you never received an answer, I just wanted to share that I've been with eXp for over 5 years and I still love it! Honestly, there have been a few bumps along the road over the years, but it is understandable when a company is growing so quickly. I really enjoy the virtual office -- it's a great place to have quick meetings with my team or attend a class where I can learn from top agents around the country. What has meant the most to me is how HELPFUL everyone is and how willing agents are to share information (i.e. listing presentations, SEO tips, etc) -- I've never seen anything like it at the other brokerages I worked with. Because we are all stockholders in the company it just creates a culture where we want to help others succeed in hopes that the stock price will rise (EXPI stock was only 20 cents when I joined!).
I'm by no means a "recruiter" but I did bring my team with me to eXp and have had a few agents join organically over the years. I think the revenue share model is genius and it's made a BIG impact on my life in recent years.
Final thought... I don't think eXp is for everyone. If you don't enjoy working from home or co-working space, it might not be for you. If you are a member of a team and need the in-person accountability (i.e. someone hovering over you!) to make those lead gen phone calls every day, it might not be for you.
If you can't tell, I could go on and on, but I would highly recommend taking a few minutes to learn about this brokerage and take a tour of the virtual office -- I never thought I'd use it as often as I do, but it's a big time saver and a pretty cool place to be!

EXP is not the first company to come up with the web-based agency concept. This is not for everyone, but works well for us since we have a firmly established client base

I interviewed with them in Florida many years ago when I was thinking of moving, and did not want to work with a company with the pyramid system.

The business model is sound.
However, if you do your due diligence, the reality will be directly in your face.
Does the 'fruit' align with the 'promise?'
Are you confident you have the ability, skills, resources and systems to overcome what you can clearly see if you simply analyze the data.
If you have that confidence. then stop thinking and join. If you refuse to 'see' the data, you can be assured the sweet words turn bitter in the light of disappointment.
Start with the only two questions you need to ask a broker. Then follow the trail.

Do your due diligence. If you are comfortable with everything being "virtual" it's worth considering...

We have one here in NH. I have not done a lot of business with them. I got some recruiting info from them but nothing that interested me.
