Rush for what... shopping for deals? Returning gifts?

I haven't heard about a 'rush' after Christmas so, I'm not buyin' it!

No. The week following Christmas will be wrapping up the year. After the first of the year, yep. It's on like Donkey Kong.

real estate i assume?  i dont see a reason for a "rush" it will take time for the tax changes to be totally digested. so i see a delay

No. This is first I've heard of this " prediction".

I call it a "pop", you call it a "rush", it's all the same difference. My experience has been that the last 2 weeks of the year are pretty dead followed by a busy January.

It has been that way in years past so I am expecting to be busy next week.

A rush right after Christmas for?

Here in NH anyway, we do see real estate pick up again after New Years. This year new sales slowed the beginning of December, but i saw the steady flow of 1st buyers, most often young couples without kids buying like it was Spring. If we have a warm January all levels pick up, if we have a cold snowy winter, we may not pick up until March 1. I do see a steady flow of 1st time buyer sales though

Rush? I believe that rates went up yesterday, well at least according to MarketWatch, so any rush because of rates has passed. Otherwise, I doubt until after new years, then we will see activity. 

In our area, it always gets very active about a week or so into January. 

Nope.  There might be a lot of chatter around the tables but people will move when they can; not when media tells them they'd better now or they'll miss out.

I have 6 or 7 sellers and two buyers now, yep, it will be a good start to 2018.

I've had a rush all year.  Business couldn't be better.

I have heard some rumblings but I am not buying it.

usually things are semi quiet through x-mas in salt lake.. .  some serious buyers looking. Seems everyone takes a break through January, then the market picks up again

A rush for what - buying homes?  I don't think so.

Haven't heard it.  Don't expect one since no one can close or even start a loan before the new year with all the holidays and vacation days.

I'm having a rush before Christmas.  Closed one yesterday, 3 more under contract in the past week.  With at least a couple more files I'll be getting started in the new year.
