I bundle cell phone with Direct TV and ripoff doesn't begin to say what they are doing to me. I will be doing something about that very soon.

EVERY month.  And cable service is a monopoly around here so it's more than frustrating.  And cell service?  Dear lord I'm still recovering from that debacle in Oct!!

I've had AT&T 15 years, great deal--free agent, grandfathered. One of my best clients is a T-Mobile/Metro PCS retailer I placed into 5 different sites, minds my website and does other stuff for me. I tell everybody to switch to T-Mobile because he's a great client. But I won't venture into the unknown. The carriers are all crazy. When you need help, you're talking to someone from a 3rd world country who will upsell you at any turn, sign you up for services you don't want and lie to you when you tell them to discontinue features.
You just have to keep beating the living daylights out of them, escalating until you get the right nerd to throw the right switches. If there's a local presence, go in there and do the gorilla on the counter. Public displays of angst can be effective. LOL

Fred, Typically Twitter does the trick of getting it done - TYPICALLY, they don't want the negative social media publicity. Keep hammering them on Twitter and I'll bet they'll rescind that bill!

Yes! Every 12 months I have to call At&t to threaten to cancel my internet and cable bc it goes from $155 per month to $212 ... After 30 minutes of  bitching they lower me back down to $155 and usually throw in 3 free months of HBO and I am set for year... the cycle continues...

Unfortunately yes, by Sprint several times, Cable provider(Brighthouse), Bank of America..my list is long.

OMG  YES..  We have written documentation of what our charges would be mnonhtly, when the bill came it was more than that.  When we called the office, they said, I'm sorry, we cannot honor that.  I have it in writing....

It's not going to end well for them.

All of the time! I added an ATT router with a ONE time fee only to receive the monthly bill with and addition $10 charge-disputed and dropped with apology. Next month it was back! After 3 months finally no more. You have to pay attention!

Fortunately not. I did have a few rounds with AT&T and the best day of my life was the day I told them to take a hike!

yes and once I escalated my "issue" to the CEO of AT&T to solve it.

They all do it and i am on them.  constantly watch my Sprint bill and requet changes when they over a new plan or mine goes up. Same with Comcast. Ask nice and you get big savings

Them and insurance companies apparently can change your coverages without your knowledge or consent.

We have been with Verizon since they bought the first company we were with in Los Angeles.  Once my bill was wrong and they took care of it immediately.  During this horrible fire time, they have extended  unlimited data time for all their customers in Santa Barbara County and in Ventura County.  We thought it was a gracious gesture and great PR with teeth in it r!

Fred Griffin Yes, recently my router would not bring up my other devices. A FiOS tech came to the house, said my router was defective and replaced it with a new one. Everything worked great again until they sent me a bill with a ten dollar per month charge for the router. We're going back and forth discussing why I should have to pay for a piece of their equipment that became defective and had to be replaced. Now I'm also finding out their latest technology router does not cover my whole home like the old one did.

Those who have not been 'ripped off' are simply unaware of the fact.

These gate-keepers to all our communications are going to become even more impervious to customer outrage because the big four knows the consumer has no options. And a virtual monopoly means service is provided through commercials, not in delivery, much like NAR and it's associations.

Yes, and have to call Comcast every so often and threaten to cancel, then they give me my "best rate" again.  So stupid.
