Thankfully no! I have two today, one tomorrow and one on Thursday this week. They'd better not leave my clients high and dry or I'll be finding new inspectors! 

If it's impossible to find an inspector, perhaps a longer home inspection period would be acceptable to the sellers, given the time of year.  But, no, not having this problem. 

Write in a longer inspection period with an explanation of the date you can confirm for the inspection.

We seem to have plenty of good inspectors competing for business.

Not at all. All of the vendors I use want the work! 

An inspector should expect business all year round just like we do. I think they should work at least a few days this week.

So far, so good. Then again, many of the vendors I use know I refer considerable business to them, so they bend over backwards to accommodate my clients. Next week could be a tough one, however, as I think many people will take off. Fortunately, I don't have to call on anyone for services next week.

Not even just at this time of year. We have like 5 home inspectors, two of whom we prefer. And they're always so slammed that sometimes we have to find out if we can get on their schedule before we even submit an offer.

Not in Los Angeles and Valley hoods. It is such a huge area, vendors are willing to drive hours if necessary to get the job.

I am not.  In fact, when no inventory my peeps seem to be readily available. Exception is contractors ... they are booked!

We ar enot allowe dto chose inspectors for buyers here in NH. I can  give 2-3 names but not 1. I can say who did a good job with past clients. So far so good here but i am having an issue with title companies trying to close homes before teh 1st of the year

I better not find them playing hard to get.

They are aware and I am aware there are many vendors waiting for me to become unhappy with my existing vendors.

Nope! I should think they have a few hours to spare and, if they're in town and just don't want to work, there are plenty others for buyers to choose from.

My inspector went on vacation earlier this month, but now he's back, appraisers are out, and all it working well.

I think most take off between Christmas and New Years.

I have not heard of that ever being an issue, but I guess if you were in a smaller town and didn't have a lot of quality inspectors to choose from, I could see it becoming an issue if they decided to take some time off for the holidays.

Not really. Home inspectors who are hungry work.  Home inspectors who want a strong network are available.

I am hearing that many appraisers and inspectors are having cut off dates and will not be able to promise to be able to get things done before the end of the year.

My termite guy went on vacation, but he made a special trip out to do an inspection before he left... and that's why he's our termite guy!

I am having a hell of a time with handy man do not call. I have 5 jobs and these folks got their own agenda..... Called 3 no return busy since Nov. Going to try Craigslist.

In our market we can still find home inspectors.  However, if you have limitations in your market, write it into the offer that the time frame for the home inspection is extended until your inspector can actually get in and do the work.

      I can find people here.   

    Suggest:  write in a longer contingency period.  

The ones I use give me a heads up and most are goin around the 22nd. I have backups.
