My God. A fat increase in dues. Which, if it was for anything valuable, I would cheerfully pay.

They're not looking for input - they are looking for our tacit approval on something they are already scheming to do.

No amount of vein-opening on the members' part will make them 'remain effective into the future' . . . don't they listen?

What we need from them does NOT cost more money . . . they have plenty and are not spending it properly.

Spank their butts, then replace them with robot computers.

PS. BITE ME.

Kiss kiss!

The RIGHT CHARLOTTE REALTOR!

I'm so with Carol Williams & Candice A. Donofrio on this, Lyn...

The first thing we need to do though, is start LOCALLY. We are mandated to be members of NAR in order to have MLS access in many parts of the country. Why is that? Let's have our own CoEs put this profession back into our hands...Why is this so difficult for us to do?

In addition to sending your input to NAR,  contact your Director reps and give it directly to them!  Organize a Call-to-Action. It's sad to think the REALTORS® need to band together AGAINST NAR but that's what it might take.  Funds need to be reallocated, not a dues increase.

Lyn Sims NAR did this once before. It didn't do any good to complain because they did it anyway. They said it was outside RPAC again to lobby for our interests. When NAR sends you a bill itemizing their dues, look at what isn't deductible - these additional fees.

I head prefer it be rd this at NAR. It is proposed for 2019 dues and would be a $25 increase. I give way more than that to the Realtor Party and would prefer it remains voluntary.

Really? Well, before they go asking for MORE money to represent our interests. Shouldn't they prove they can DO SOMETHING with they money they already have to do JUST THAT!

If they feel they need more money to do the job perhaps they should take it from the Registration/certification fees they charge. As these have nothing at all to do with the classes we take and pay for separately.  Sorry I realize I am drifting off topic but these fees have always rubbed me the wrong way.

As to giving them MORE money that seems like a bad idea. Before throwing even more money at a problem how about PROVING they can do something with the huge sums of money they already receive from us all every year.

The absolute least favorite thing about this industry is the mandatory membership of NAR.  To me, it is worthless.  I don't see how they make our industry better, or home buying easier.  And very few agents have their eyes open to how NAR has helped to screw the agents, in cahoots with the big box brokerages.
