I use a less tecky method, I hold the camera and keep it as steady as I can. Then when uploading to youtube it will offer to do any needed stabilizing for me.

One of my videographers uses the gyro stabalizer that you purchased and he said just to stick with it - it truly is a huge learning curve.
The other one uses one that is a 'body' stabalizer - it fits around his neck and the camera height can be adjusted but, is still, basically, 'hand-held.' He absolutely will not go back to the Moza Air!
Both are relatively flawless and both are run through the YouTube stabalizer when I upload them there anyway.
Good luck, John!

I've been interested to see the answers on this one. I've not heard about the stabilizer on a camera.

Primarily I use a tripod when possible or a steady hand when not as Bob Crane said you can also use post filming stablization these are also available in many video editors.

For fast vids on the go, we use our Osmo Mobile for our Smartphones and it works fantastic. We opted this route since the stabilizers for DSLRs are too expensive.

A video camera for shooting videos, still camera for the wider, eye candy. Show pans and editing the loops instead of one trot through a property floating. Those work best because you set up the shots for the stitch together. Learning to edit and setting up the story board in sequence to save time makes your video creation time quicker, more effective.

My camera phone has a built-in stabalizer. It works well enough for me. Plus I use a wheeled tripod with the phone mounted to it.

Oh my gosh ... I am of no help. What I know from experience is sometimes what I think will be easy-peasy ... turns out to be a real challenge ... far more complicated than I ever imagined. I know you will get this figured out.

These tri-axial gimbal fixture bringing back bad experience as too high tech. Head gimbal assembly is what I used to develop day in and out, for many years.
I trust my own steady hands,

Let me take a look at your stabilizer (I also use a Canon video camera). Thanks for the link!

My Canon has optical stabilization (not digital) build into the lens.
However, my recommendation is to discard the mechanical device stabilizer entirely. Use tripod when appropriate.
Then use PP stabilization that is included in ALL PP software. Yes, this will add two minutes to your editing, but in the long run, it will save you a lifetime of frustration.
Then, this is important, be merciless in your cuts. If the frame isn't about the house, cut it. A chronological traverse of the hallway is NOT ABOUT THE HOUSE. CUT IT!!
Having a keen edit eys will make those clips that are unsteady appear otherwise.
This link is an early video with 'old' camera without stabilization. It also exhibits the Achilles Heel of video, camera microphone. All stabilization done PP.
