How short term is the rental? Most landlords require a year lease. I can connect her to a local apartment locator, maybe there are some apartments allowing a 6 month lease or 3 month lease. I've leased an apartment for 3 months before but that was a long time ago. Or an extended stay is another option.

My friend rents a room to traveling nurses. She has been doing so for years. She has found all of her "tenants" on Craig's List. Short term rentals are hard to come by ... renting a room may be the better option.
