I like Thomas J. Nelson, Realtor,CRS,e-Pro 's response. Every "issue" can be treated as a problem or as a challenge and an opportunity to grow. For me, it is how can I keep positioning the company to stay ahead of the competition?

I don't have any "big" problems to solve... it's steady as she goes.

Finding more time without hiring another assistant! Like Richard L. McKinney P.A. said, time management seems to keep returning as a popular challenge in my business as well.

Govt interference has always been the biggest headache.

     Sell a listing in a tough price range.

My biggest problem by far is Time Management.  Any agent that sells more than 50 transaction sides per year will say the same thing.

Other agents may say that lead generation, bad home inspectors or low appraisals are their biggest problems. But the truth is they just don't realize that their time management stinks. Mostly bc they are lazy. 

At this time last year I made a commitment to time management and it paid off! I have doubled my business! And I'm not talking about going from 10 to 20 deals a year .. I will have well over 115 transaction sides this year and over 20 million in closed volume. 

Basically, I committed to a transaction coordinator, I actually used the CRM that I already had and added two good agents to my team. Next, I set goals, developed a business plan and drilled that plan all the way down to my daily tasks. I also completely eliminated things that brought in little to no business such as blogging, seo, facebook ads and my personal web site. I decided to only do the job that pays me $100 per hour (sell real estate) instead of one that pays $10 to $15 an hour (peck away on the puter). So I passed these activities on to my Trans Cord. 

The most amazing thing about my new strategy is that I actually have more time off! It's true!

My plan for next year is even better Time Management and that business plan is almost complete. 

I strongly suggest that agents read The Millionaire Agent. If you know your business and local market AND put this book into action, you will succeed.

I can't say any of it is a problem. I have many projects in the works and wish I had more time to get them all started sooner than later.

No problems and life is good.

Lack of inventory and out of control bidding wars driving the price of homes to the moon.  I have no control over that. No way to solve it. 

Attracting web visitors. 

Time management. 

Training others to take over portions of my business so I'm working ON the business, not IN the business.

The only things that become problems are the ones i can not control, these days that is the appraisal. How they are 2-3 weeks behind stalling sales and even worse, they bring in out of town and even out of state appraisers who butcher such an easy task killing deals. 

Selling the business. Not a huge problem, just the details.

Do I step away for the next two years to take care of my newborn son, or plug along and do the best I can with the time and commitments I have

I truly look at "problems" as opportunities. 

Life and real estate involves perspective. 

Stepping back.  Focus.  Re-focus.  Ask qustions.  Carefully listen.  Learn. 

Rinse.

Repeat.

When I was working it was dealing with lazy and/or incompetent agents and other so-called professionals.

I am facing a challenge, not a problem.  It is getting more potential buyers and sellers to my brand new website.

Don't break the chain!

The biggest issue new and newly established agents face is breaking the chain. They happen upon something that works, results come in but they break the chain by chasing a shiny thing and never get to that 'going steady' repeatability.
