I do not recommend typing a blog posts in word. Always type in Mac Pages or in Google docs. MS Word has code that can interfere with SEO and formatting, etc. Pages on a Mac are clean and don't copy over coding that has to be dealt with or unseen. Google docs is good because Google is reading your content and if you make the page public, you will receive SEO credit for that.

Hi John Mosier! You can use MS Word and you can take out the additional formatting by highlighting all of text and then hitting the Tx button.

I have but it is not my norm. The formating gets all messed up when copying over. I prefer to use Google Docs.

You might lose those fonts when your copy and paste to ActiveRain. Let us know if you are successful.

I use it all the time.
If extra characters of formating show up just hightlight you text and hit the Tx button on the toolbar to clear the formating.

Use Notepad, or one of the platforms suggested by Katerina Gasset.

I just strip the coding as Debe Maxwell, CRS illustrated. Then I reformat.

Not word but I do use Notepad - word puts too many hidden characters in the post - not good

I tried and when posting it, AR scrambles it, different font, not centered etc.

I know there are some users that do this as a means of drafting the post and then they cut/paste only when they are ready to publish. I've not tried it but it supposedly provides better formatting options.

Why are you bothering? Just cut & paste in regular format & then you will have to change the font or type size.
Word is the worst program to use for HTML. Some people continue to use it & then have problems.

I would copy and paste to an empty "plain text" file - which would strip all the formatting - then copy and paste from there into Active Rain and "save" - then do any final editing....

If it's actual html, just go to the html section here.. marked <> and insert there. You may still have to do some minor formatting.

My thought, bring it up on your phone/laptop and screen shot- then save as photo / jpeg and insert into blog. I'm sure there are more experienced members that have great suggestions. Best of luck.

I do use MS Word and pasting into AR is an endless pain, I spent hours trying to formatting it back. In MS Word it looks beautiful, but AR somehow totally ruins fonds.

I personally do not use MS word for preparing blog posts. I use notepad++ and then add html markup for any formatting I might want to add. If you're not comfortable with HTML and you're using a CMS like Wordpress or Joomla I would just use the visual editor there.

No MS products here! I use Open Office Writer sometimes, but I usually stick with my site's blog engine first.

John Mosier I always write my posts in Word and then do a copy and paste in into Dreamweaver. From there I can fix any formatting, etc. Once I get it where I want it, I copy and paste the html code from Dreamweaver as source code into my AR post. All fonts, formatting, etc. stay in place in my final publiched post. It seems like a long way around, but this does work for me.

M$ has lots of features. Like many products that are feature rich learning to use them in a wide varitety of environments requires a few tutorials.
I am one of those who believe I can figure it out 'on the fly' and until I'm up to my ears in swamp, avoid the training materials.
There are LOTS of products with fewer features that are easier to use and many are FREE (well the cost is your privacy).
