All of the above. Funny thing, we hired a photgrapher for our short term rental condo in Florida and hired him off the dorne photos. His interiors weren't that good so look for both.

Good photo composition skills

"the eye buys" and we want to see samples of what they've done.... I want all sides of the home displayed including a shot from directly above that shows the true magnitude of the home with the roof and all valleys showing, if it's deceiving with a front shot....

The number one factor is not having to deal with any govt interference.

Requiring a pilot to fly these toys to take commercial photos while any kid in the neighborhood could fly them for any other kind of activity or mischief was just wrong and kind of a communist move.

I'd like to see their portfolio and I don't care about the type of camera or drone they use as long as the results are nice. They have to be licensed for drone.

Quality of their product for the price. Ask to see examples and make sure they are licensed.

We have  done aerial photography but only from my plane with Sandy taking the shots

Much of our market area is in a no fly zone. I have not hired anyone for drone photographs.

  I have only used aerial two or three times.  I have several friends who are pilots (including a Board member); I would ask their advice.

I never have hired one before

Yes I would want to see examples of their work, ask about their strategies and how they would approach photographing my listing. Also ask if editing is included.

If they are license

The quality of their product. Also the originality in some of their samples. I expect them to do it well no matter what they use.

Really, all of the above. But at the end of the day, I don't sell all that many properties that justify aerial photos as they won't really enhance the marketing.

OK price IS important, but the quality of their work, their experience, and their portfolio are important. Do they edit, too? And they better have insurance!

All in the family, My Nephew Drew has been doing my pictures & drone shots for years

I only have one drone pilot! I love his work and I am loyal to him. 

As far as camera specs, etc. - it's up to him - he's the expert and all I care about is that he's properly licensed. His work speaks for itself! 

I usually go to their web site to see what their photos look like.  I have a client with a drone and my photographer can do them, so have not actively looked for a new provider.
