I like to setup my own appointments. It's more interaction with the agents and clients to start relationship building. And to be honest, as a buyer agent I hate it when I have to call a list office for an appointment - especially if I'm trying to set or change something after hours and the office is now closed. It's easier to deal agent to agent. As a listing agent, I like to set these up and reach the homeowner directly with appointments to let them know I am doing my job (not someone else).

I like to. ShowingTime makes it too easy anymore to do it yourself, IMHO.

We have receptionists who set up appointments ,  Plus showing time .If it is after hours  I will be  automatically notified and can set them up . This way the seller never loses an appointment if I am busy .

I do most of my appointment setting but sometimes get the help of my assistant.

I create the dynamic to earn the referral given from others or repeat clients, the appointment and conduct them myself. So I suppose my database sets the appointments and I nail them.

Heck no, all my appts are to save time & can be done at any time of the day or night for that matter. ShowingDesk in the MLS.

I've used a centralized showing service for a good 15+ years... much more efficient and agents can book appointments on-line. If there is information I need to update for them, I can put it notes for the listing and they'll get it with their showing appointment confirmation... or I quickly email them as soon as I get email notification of appointment confirmation. I know when I am making appointments I do not want to be chasing after listing agents to speak with me. It's quicker for me to go on-line and ask for a series of appointments in one fell swoop.

I set up my own listing appointments when I'm talking on the phone to the potential sellers. Although, if one of my assistants has a friend or family member to refer to me, they do have access to my calendar and will put a hold on a spot on the calendar until I've had a chance to confirm with the potential sellers myself.

If I understand your question correctly -

I prefer to have agents contact me to schedule showings for my listings unless a property is vacant and the mls showing instructions state "go direct".   This provides an opportunity to answer any questions the showing agent might have as well as to have another opportunity to connect with the seller.

my area doesn't have a service, I do it myself.

I will call the listing office to request the appointment.  They then call my office to confirm it and my office pages me with the confirmtion.

I like the conveniencee of Showingtime for both listing and buying appointments.  However, I do have to make or accept phone call on occasion to finalize appointment details. 

I do everything myself, no assistant or TC.

Nestor sets up the listing appointments himself because of the nature of ourl listings. Many of our listings have to be shown by Nestor. He likes to also meet the other agents and network with them.  He likes to manage his own calendar.

Both!  We have Assistants that will set up appointments for us but I also set up my own.

Most of the time they can contact the seller, provided we have discussed and agree -pretty common here with our lock boxes. On some homes, yes, I  make the appointments.
