It happens to me too. In the spring as the daylight gets longer I get more energy and can work longer days. sunlight is revitalizing. I slug through winter.

Not this time of year - the cool fall weather actually energizes me but, the freezing cold winter weather - not so much! Winter weather makes me want to hit the hay a lot earlier than any other season!

I don't notice any difference, myself. Then again, I like the fall season and I like the approach of darkness earlier in the evening.

I'm not noticing any difference, although it's dark in the morning now when I get up and I don't like that too much.

Many people are impacted by shorter as well as longer days... some much more so than others.

There are many people are prescribed SUN (Light Therapies)

LINK to outside Article during the winter month's to offset both physical and psychological impacts of shorter days. They are told to purchase indoor artificial SUN sources and sit in front of them for minutes to hours a day during the winter.

Some people who have even more dramatic responses to shorter days are advised to relocate to southern latitudes to combat these issues.

It's getting dark earlier and I too seem to be left without steam earlier than usual.

When it gets darker earlier (like at 5pm) I do. No real change yet, but I am tired all the time it seems anyway. -Kasey

It does in the evening and i think becuase it is getting dark earlier. Last night I was ready for bed, wiped out and it was only 745pm and dark

I'm ready for fall.  Here the summer's beat  you down.

When it gets dark earlier in the day, i get tired earlier in the day.

Shorter days, no it does not generally affect me in the fall, but about Feb it sometimes hits.

I haven't felt that yet but I know I felt tired when fall came last year.

 Temps in the 80's here, and the humidity higher than that.  Fall would be nice!

Oh yes, I've been noticing this too...obviously due to less daylight.

That is a relief.  I was starting to wonder ... what is wrong with me .... why am I so tired ... so early?

So yes, that is happening to me!

Maybe it's just a mental wind-down from a busy summer?  

I think it depends on what time you get up - I also notice the older I get the more tired I become later in the day LOL

Fall is my favorite season for many reasons. I don't notice being more tired.

My suggestion, add a twenty-minute nap to your daily schedule.  One of my agents used to close door, fold his arms on his desk and put his head down for his afternoon nap.

You bet, I get up around 3-4 AM each day.  I spend two hours in the Rain, take a short nap and I'm ready for the day.  

Nope - should it?!

Happy Hour is a one hour nap

Thank God - nothing of that sort to me...

Perhaps it is time to schedule a midday siesta?

I think for those of us above the 45th parallel we become accustomed to some very long summer days, compared to those in the lower lattitudes.  Now, with the fairly rapid shortening of the daylight hours, our internal "clock" tells us earlier in the day to wind down and get to bed!

How curious that you asked this question.  It hit me this morning and I couldn't figure it out.  Now I know!  Fall OFF!!!  Time for naps in the morning????

I bet it has a lot to do with the sunlight.

I get tired easily when it is dark, I think it has to do with our body's internal clock.

Is it the change in temperature, meaning cooler outside, or just the change in the light - where it seems like we should be home and getting ready for bed, because it's dark out, but it's only 7 p.m. Paul S. Henderson, CRS, REALTOR®,?  No, here, it's not happening yet . . .   

Nope, can't say I have noticed, yet! Just the normal tired. And just back from vacation so trying to re-orient  to my time zone!

Maybe some of us need to get more exercise.

Not for me but I have been in three times zones lately and my body is confused.

I think our bodies are affected by the natural cycles of the earth.

Me too!  I have more allergies symptoms in the Fall and that causes me to be tired.  Also, the days are getting shorter with cooler weather and that just makes you tire out quickly.

Not yet. Still feels like summer here to me. Our temps have been in the mid 80s. A cool front is coming tonight. We'll see how I feel this weekend!

Interesting, Paul. I am energized when autumn come in. But I tend to feel fatigued in summer. The heat, I suppose.
