It has been wonky for quite awhile. Do it manually and you can pick whatever photo in your inventory you want.

There is nothing wrong with G, it's AR's problem. It's been happening for years where your big head just shows up. I upload my own pic now so it has the photo I choose.

Yes and I do so manually and just add the photo/graphic I want there - I don't ever post directly from AR there (they always have the wrong photo/graphic displayed as the 'first' photo).

I've never shared a post from AR to Google+, so I am not aware.

I never shared from ActiveRain.... I wrote a fresh post or did a copy and paste.....

I've had that problem a few times. When it happens, I just manually upload a photo.

Good to read the comments..don't post directly from AR..they just don't have a smooth transition.

I forget that Google + exists until I am reminded.

I always insert my own photo, so have not seen this, will need to check it out.

I learned that if auto post does not work well, post manually a link with a picture of your choice. I do it with FB as well.

G+ doesn't seem to generate much for me so I don't use it often anymore. Heard it's relevance has declined too from a marketing expert I interviewed on my Podcast a couple months back...are you having good results?

I used to , but something changed in the last 2-3 months that makes it too hard !

I share my posts through my website, but do "scrub" them first through the facebook debugger. If I didn't do this, my photos would not show. Perhaps that is the same issue you are experiencing?

I share mine manually.

I share there often, but never go back to see how it looks, just sharing for the backlink.

Just another the thing that will require a work around. 

I think the social sharing on here hasn't worked for a while.  It certainly hasn't worked for FB.  But, I never share from here anymore.  I share from my own blog (which is the better way to go). I used to share other people's stuff on here but it was broken so I stopped.

G+ and FB and others work fine if you share from your own WP site.

Manually posting seems to be the answer.
