Aw man. I LOVE my truck! <3

Why do people need huge SUVs?  Why do people buy five or six bedroom homes when there are only one or two occupants?  Why does a woman have 50 or 100 pair of shoes?  The answer is all the same.... because they can!

I am proud of my big truck and am the envy of many because of it. Maybe you have truck envy Dennis.....

These are fighting  words in my neck of the woods .

I'm the wrong person to ask that question! I don't even get the whole SUV thing. If I didn't have to transport clients from time to time, I'd have a mini.

I live in the South so, every other resident has a pick-up truck - and they're not all contractors or farmers either!

Big trucks can be hard to park in our urban area.

That's the thing here in AZ. 50% or so of all personal vehicles are trucks. Great for tailgate parties. Go big or go home.

And there's something special with ladies and pickup trucks.

Now, Now; calm down. I happen to enjoy pick-up trucks. Here I though it was the Volvo drivers that were the worst. Go figure!

My truck is my 2nd vehicle, used to plow in the winter, haul the boat and for work. Massive amount of junk to move in or out

A lot of folks feel the need to overcompensate in one area for inadequacies in another area.

Sorry doesn't cut it bucko! I have a big truck and it comes in very handy in real estate. Where do you live that there are so many arrogant drivers?

   What Peter Mohylsky said.  I live in a rural Southern county south of Tallahassee; there are more trucks than cars (true fact).   

I call them a goat roper's truck.  Can't stop smiling because of Gary L. Waters, Broker Owner, Waters Realty of Brevard, LLC , and John Bear's comment.

Worse yet .. the cost of those things & people don't even really use them. 

Why do people have a kid & then run out to buy this huge van for the smallest member of the family?  Kid is 20" tall & weights 8 lbs tops so you get the biggest 'container' for this little kid.

As far as vehicles go, I don't know but I've been told my sighs matter.  A lot. To go along with those sighs, add in the occasional eye roll and a snarky comment -- and what can say beyond I'm pleased to meet you.

LOL, but sadly... When my kids were taking driver's ed courses, they had an assignment to see how many drivers they could count on the road that were NOT wearing seatbelts. Guess what? They were mostly the younger guys in big pick up trucks...

Freud had a theory.  I have not tested it. 

In my area people have them to haul trailers, toys, boats, RVs, and their deer/elk after hunting. They are pretty common. I never noticed them being the worst drivers. I am actually a little fearful of everyone on the road these days. -Kasey

it's a macho thing.... there are many who have powerful pickup trucks and are not in the trades; not plowing snow; and just drive it for their pleasure....or whatever! 

They own the road. I can't understand why people spend so much money for features they almost never use. However, it's their money.

Are those the ones with the intentionally noisy exhaust??!! 

I seen a big beautiful new pick-up ($$$) and thought it too nice to use as a pick-up.  A true working pick-up versus the city hype-type?  Ego vs function?

Not sure, and the gas mileage is terrible!

My client just bought a huge and long pick up truck. He can not park it anywhere....:( but they had to invest in it since they need it for film equipment( production company). 

I see these big things on the road and wonder the same thing.

Our truck just barely fits in the garage, but not sure what that has to do with anything???

Not ego for us....it's about pulling a trailer. Also damn convenient when you have stuff to transport, which we seem to have often!

We have lots of big trucks on our roads because our military guys love them. And you are right they do not fit in the garages. The big trucks make them feel powerful so nobody will mess with them.

Pick up truck drivers are universal, they watch too much Nascar snd want to bump draft you.
