As always.  It depends.

If I receive a call and if it is my listing...I speak with the caller...ask questions...listen and depending on what I learn...I usually make an appointment to show the property to them.  My job as a listing agent is to find the right tenant for my client -- the landlord/owner.  

If I receive a random call..."I found you online" or something to the effect -- speak with the caller,..ask lots of questions...listen and depending on what I learn...I may or may not make an appointment...I'm not as committed to them when there may/may not have commitment on their part.

With a random call -- I may not be able to help them for a variety of reasons and I try to offer advice/alternatives.  Often --- it feels like they are "Dialing For Dollars" -- no rhyme...no reason...it's all about asking the right questions...and listening.  

     I refer them to a ReMax broker who has a separate property management LLC.  

I send them to my son who manages our properties, and if he does not have what they are looking for then we have a few PM companies in town that we forward them to.

I tell them to check craigslist. There is very little rental activity on our MLS

Because we work in Disneys back yard there are 1000's of property management companies, licensed and not. There are more rentals here on Rentals.com than there ever are on the MLS. 

If they want a townhome in Clarksville and have good credit, they can call me and I would be glad to tell them about one of mine.

I usually don't take them but  refer them to my buyer agent.  Sometimes renters do turn into buyers (or sellers) so no one should be cavalier about a prospective client.

I'm retired now but had my own property management division so I handled them myself.  If someone asks me now, I have two companies to refer them to.  Central Washington. 

I have yet to be called randomly for renting.  The only time I've been called is when I have a property listed for rent and they're calling on my listing.  I've had a few friends and AR members refer me rental clients and I have worked with them, but it is not a demographic I target.

As a property manager, I handle the call myself.

I don't represent any residential rentals or tenants, ever. So very few people would come to me looking for one. I would direct to one of the local property management companies. No one in particular.

I accept all calls since renters turn into buyers especially in my area.

I would refer those prospects to the property management division in our office, RE/MAX Realty Group.

It would depend on who called, what they were looking for, when they were looking for it.

If a tenant calls me in my area, I help them if they can actually rent a home.

I work with tenants only from referrals or if my past clients need help. I'm in Los Angeles and S.F. Valley.

It's rare I get any calls or emails about renting.

Eddie we don't get rental calls. Sorry can't help you out here. 

I refer them to Craigs list.  That is where all the rentals are.  Even the few that are on the MLS are also on Craigs List.

I'm not going to do that. Agents in my area don't want to work them & you're a guy that swears by it.

I never get rental calls because I neither look for them nor want them..

If they call me, then I'll try to help them. Sometimes, if they already have some maybe homes they've seen online, I'll usually tell them to just call listing agent. In other cases, i've told them to call our office and see if any agents are available that can help them.

I'm in Charlotte and I offer them to one of my assistants - if she wants to pick up some extra cash, she takes it.
