Nathan yes they do go all out. But as for moi it's way to hot to be going to the big events downtown.  We typically have friends over  and watch the fireworks the country club puts on from our pool. Perfect place to be on July 4th in Phoenix.

Yes! They are hosting an Independence Day parade and celebration on the Square with free live concerts, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and the City of Marietta fireworks finale! It'll be an all day thing on the 4th, from 10 a.m.-10 p.m.  Love it!!

In Costa Mesa most of the festivities are in nearby beach communities like Huntington or Newport beaches.  

But it seems half the area wants to go all out, and the other half wants to ban fireworks because their dogs are scared.

Where? Sarasota, FL, or San Diego, CA? I think San Diego recognizes the holiday on a much larger scale due to the huge military presence.

In Naples, YES, here it's a little more subdued. We'd take the boat to catch the fireworks from the Naples Pier and be able to watch multiple displays simultaneously from Fort Myers, Marco Island, Sugden Park, Lely & more. Cody sounds like it gets hopping big time Nathan, as it should. Have a safe Independence Day!

In Bend, Oregon, we have always had the Pet Parade to start things off in downtown, and then this is followed by the Old Fashioned 4th of July in Drake Park. Fireworks start at 10 pm launched off Pilot Butte (in town volcano). Lots of fun and lots of people.

I am not sure if all out is the right word. Just normal 4th celebrations I think. Then again, we personally stay home so maybe I don't know! We can see all the fireworks on the horizon from house and it is less chaotic. When I was a kid our small town had a 4th of July rodeo. We went to that every year and I still associate 4th of July and rodeos and wish we had one to go to.-Kasey

Yes.  There are activities all day long.

That sounds like fun, Nathan. We do have a lot of activities happening in the Charlotte metro area, but we are quite spread out geographically so it doesn't necessarily feel all that "intense."

I am in N. Virginia fairly close proximity to D.C. so there is a lot of activity for the 4th of July the following week is also the city of Alexandria Va Birthday celebration with festivities including a waterfront celebration complete with a great fireworks display. Nathan Gesner

We have firework displays all over town.  Get a location on a hill, and it is really nice.   

No, Lancaster is having a Pro Bull Riders event with their fireworks celebration, that would be fun to go to.

The neighborhood where my Lynn Ranch listing is, has a parade and pancake breakfast on the 4th.

I may just have to visit Cody one of these July 4ths.

Oh, now that sounds like an awesome two days, Nathan Gesner!  Yes, we go all-out here in the Charlotte area - in fact, we often don't know which ones to attend - there are so many offered!  

This year, we'll be enjoying them at the lake - to me, there's just nothing like seeing the fireworks and the reflections in the water, while sitting by the water, having an adult beverage!

We have a Haynes Apperson Festival, with rides, food, games, concerts, and a parade. It's a multi- day event and it's a pretty big deal for a small-ish town, they block off downtown Kokomo for the weekend. Oh and of course- Fireworks!

Not really. Chicago goes all out every weekend all summer!

I do not believe so.  San Jose ranked 50 out of 100 for the best fireworks, etc. 

All parade seats have been chained to the lawn, trees since city council did not object to cover streets shady spot with lawn chairs. It was on TV about 3 weeks ago that many good spots are taken. Parade in progress since 1906.

No I wouldn't say so, but there is a lot going on for all to enjoy, and of course beautiful summer weather. Lots of tourists at this time of year

Not really. Small parade and fireworks usally July 3rd. We are surrounded by other owns that all have their own version. ( Leesburg, Purcellville, Brunswick, Hillsboro, Harper's Ferry, etc,)
