Not personally, but whe have had plenty of clients who were in the way of highways, powerlines, pipelines, and other ROW's.

Mine is all progess and onwards and upwards and regeneration.

My comments align with Nina Hollander on this.  Progress. Redevelopment. 

I wrote a long comment on how my city of Manchester NH has grown since experiencing decline. In the end i do think the recovery or decline is directly related to those in politcial power. 

We are moving forward especially since we got a new county mayor. He has vision and is not afraid to rattle some cages.

Interesting post.  As for my city and community, PROGRESS is in abundance.

We are small but progressive.

Our council is trying to green light anything and everything, while the population is fighting against it.

   City of Tallahassee is both.  The south side is in serious decline (a major chain supermarket and a Walgreen's both announced this week that they are shuttering).   North side of Tallahassee is booming... both residential and commercial. 

  Here at Shell Point on the coast, it is virtually impossible to build anything commercial (FEMA, flood plain, insurance, etc).   With not one single restaurant, marina, store, or anything here (the nearest convenience store is 7 miles away) it will remain stagnant... and that is fine with me.

we're a large town and soon to be considered a small city.... we're continuing to progress....

They built over 3000 homes in my rural town. It is just another city. It was a village of 7500 residents before...

Progress no!  Human pollution yes definitely.....

'In the path of progress" or 'condemation."

Unless the location is populated by 1950s constructed houses on wheels, condemnation is not like.

Meanwhile citizens living in the area want the community to retain it 1960 charm. Yes, these citizens are in the way of progress. For example they keep crying, 'Oh the traffic" and will change nothing that could affect traffic.

I think, both. Since people constantly coming here, it is never the same, some areas are deteriorating, some improving.
