Other folks are watching us some for good reasons, others perhaps not.

We local realtors are being watched overseas often than we like to admit.

I am very cautious about what I open, and malwarebytes seems to do a pretty good job! Wonder what the results for AR would look like!

We should all start creating false information and data. That will teach the hackers to look elsewhere.

You can block traffic from certain IP addresses if you like. But if they're hackers, they'll just mask where the traffic originates.

I have a plugin that blocks those. I get a report on the top 10 blocks. All from other countries.

Dig a little deeper.
How long are they stay and what did they look at?
Be aware China and Russia have their own Internet and search engines that send out bots to index (block) as they see fit.
Few real estate agents are important enough to have an actual hacker stop by. However, hacking the franchise and following the bread crumbs to affiliate agents would be of interest. That is where the bad stuff happens, at the weakest link with is rarely the personal PC.
Sometimes the weakest link it the one who clicks that attachment.

Hi Joseph, I have quite a bit of traffic coming from Germany as I also have buyers from there. It's not always a bad thing when you see someone from some exotic place land on your web page!

So far this year our non-bot, non-USA visitors have Canada leading with 0.55%. Many of the Canadians find us when looking for Vancouver in their search term but don't catch that we are in Washington State, and not British Columbia.

If you use Wordpress I recommend:
IQBlockCountry (I have it set to block anything outside of the US and France (for aHrefs)).
WordFence Firewall. Allows you to create filters to block those that get past the IQBlockCountry. I check my logs frequently and I do get US based hack attempts, usually one or two a week. They get automatically banned by the firewall and then I permanently ban them.
WordFence also released a new scanning site today, GravityScan.com, that will scan your site for free. You need to register an account and verify you own the site (easy to do) to know the bad stuff it finds.

Joseph,
We have had international traffic from the time we set up our website. I don't think there is anything wrong with that, because people worldwide are interested in real estate. We have hackers in the US also. A
