No I haven't heard of it but in my state these would end up as mechanics liens for sure.

They finance home improvements, with the payments being made as part of your real estate taxes.  I think its a good idea in theory but there have been reports of high fees and questions as to whether or not the balance has to be paid upon the sale of the property.

Nope, and I would steer clear. Sounds a little like the HERO program here when your roof, siding or windows financesd through the program (at high rates) end up as a tax lien. They are being investigated.

Hero loans do the same and are put on your taxes.  This might post a problem when trying to sell you home.  For example, the buyer isn't going to want to make payments on a heater, when your sale price is high enough that a heater should be part of the sale.  Sellers end up having to pay it off at closing and didn't really save any money due to interest, etc. 

They suck people in with the "100% financing", "not credit based" and "no proof of employment or income".  That should be the red light and screaming siren right there.   As Barbara Todaro asked "What is the vig".  Look up the term "vigorish". 

Financed through taxes?  That's a great way to get your home foreclosed on if you can't pay.

BTW:  I just looked at their website.  They only operate in CA and FL, so the rest of us are safe... for now!

Every time they get involved a simple project becomes  much more expensive one with added time, permits and specs.

Nope but it sounds like a ploy that becomes a nightmare when people try to refinance their home - similar to our "HERO" program, which is hell for homeowners, and generally a total ripoff.  0% down, and overpriced everything along the way.
