I have kept none - I've yet to hear from a customer they chose me because of my certification

Beyond my license, I haven't pursued any other certifications or designations in real estate yet.  

Many over the years. The dues and continuing education requirements were becoming a financial drain without any financial gain!

Tony and Suzanne Marriott, Associate Brokers I never persued any certifications or designations. I was too busy working on getting my broker's license. After I became a broker it was all I needed to work in the field.

Some memberships are important, not for the designation, but for the continuing education and networking.

CRS, CLHMS (Guild Member - Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist) and ABR.  The rest I have let lapse because others 'over-ride' them, if you will. And, I don't claim to still have them, since I don't!

The only one I pay for is CRS which has been extremely valuable over the years.  I've got a ton of other 'alphabet soup' that don't require any money every year but I rarely use - if ever.   Nobody really cares.

I do not have any designations.  I have several certifications that live on with me.  I am a big fan of higher eduction courses that take my learning and education to a much higher level.  I am back in school today so that I can obtain another license.  

I let my ABR go. But I continue with CRS

I've let most lapse from a dues paying perspecptive, but it doesn't mean I've let my knowledge base of what I learned lapse. There are no dues to pay for my GRI designation.

I allowed my CDPE to lapse. No loss there.

I've only been licensed for 3 years and am working toward my GRI. 

All of them except CRS.

Two NAR designations because there was no ROI

I gave up the ABR, CRB and SRES. I kept my favorite, CRB and Green designations and annual fees.

I have continued with them..I do see value and my goodness doesn't anyone need any deductions? I can pay Uncle Sam or lend some credibility to my service.

          I renew my Florida Real Estate  Broker's License every two years, because that is the one "designation" that the buying and selling Public recognizes.  

I'm a CDPE and have never renewed it.  I don't think it expires.  Certified Distress Property Expert.

I kept all 9 of them right to the end of my active years in real estate.... 

We've just kept the CRS.  ABR was dropped a couple of years ago.

I've kept my SRES and now just obtained my ABR. Other than that, I have no interest on getting other paid membership designation. I have CHMS, SFR and GRI but they don't require paid membership.

I am allowing my CRS to lapse, as we speak.  I have mixed emotions about it... but I just don't see any sense in paying that fee each and every year.

The only one of mine that renews is my CRS, all the rest were one & done for good...so far.

I for one find it ridiculous that we pay for certification "training" that then requires an "APPLICATION" fee allowing us to say we have completed the training.

If the general population was completely aware of this... would they put any value to these certifications?

How much value would you assign to an undergraduate or postgraduate degree if the College or University that issued them; required continuous payments; or your degree VANISHED?

I let ABR lapse, as never felt the renewal fees were worth it.

I don't have any certifications. I suppose they have some benefit but I'm not focused on them.

I am done with all of them. Consumers do not know what they mean. money s better spent else where

None so far, but I have only one that has annual fees: Green designation. 

I've decided to let some of my IT ones lapse.  More so because of the politics of the organization than anything else.  I have no desire for any NAR sponsored certs in real estate.

I have never had one that required a renewal.
