No - not really. I have said things in a surprised and animated voice ...Oh really. I did not know that. I have always believed [fill in the blank] and go on to say ... I need to do some more research on that. I have had escrow officers say some really stupid things ... I will simply look at my clients and say ... we can discuss that further later on.

We don't meet with the other agent and their client at closing. Each party signs separately- probably due to issues such as what you describe.

We don't close at the same time, so have never run into this. Was there a specific instance this happened? What was said? I think I would only same something if it were pertinent to the contract and purchase and sale and if it affected anything going on, so I guess it depends.-Kasey

That's like correcting sometime grammar in front of others. Take them aside for a private conversation.

William,
That is a though one. In a closing of a lease with several attorneys on each side, the other agent gave advice that did not benefit her client, and the client's attorneys did not say a word. Our client's attorneys did not either. The lease was signed. A

Typically we close at different times; however, I would not correct another agent. Not my job.

No I wouldn't, but I never see the other party at a CA closing, it's just a phone call here.

I have corrected the closing agent if something is being said that is inaccurate so I would not be afraid to speak up with an agent, but I would do it kindly.

Often I keep my mouth shut as most agents have not got a clue what they are selling. My personal inspection is very detailed, above the ceiling, below flooring, soils.

I don't recall a situation like that but I haven't sat at a closing table in 12 years since leaving Massachusetts. I'm sure it happens

So long as it doesn't apply to anything having to do with the house my clients are buying or selling that could cause a problem down the line, the answer is no... I don't correct another agent or interfere in their relationship with their client. And in many cases, my clients and I are often not in the same room with the other party so we wouldn't know what was said in any event.

Unless it directly impacts MY CLIENTS or myself no, after all it could be an honest mistake. In that case William Feela I would probably discreetly say something to the other agent in private.

Depends on what has escaped the mouth of babies.
"You will have no problem with this as a vacation rental," would get a 'I'd check on that on Pg 11, paragraph 4 of the HOA documents.' That is a "CLEARLY FALSE" that has long term consequences that will come home to roost in my house. Yes, it may kill the deal.

William Feela - I prefer to stay away from commenting at that time. Smooth closing it should be, isn't it?

I almost never meet an agent and their client, unless it is an inspection or showing. If I hear a false information, I'd tactfully join the conversation with my correction making sure it does not make another agent look or feel bad in any way.

I keep my mouth shut as long as it doesn't hurt the sale. Let them tie their own noose.

William we are never at the signing with the other agent - never have been here in AZ. Thus I'd have no idea what an agent is telling their client.

Depends on the person, I generally try to correct without them losing credibility in front of their client and others, sometimes that needs to be the direct intent.

Rarely are both agents at the closing. If I did come across this situation, I would respond the way Kathleen Daniels does!
