I've never done this, Roy. Not totally sure I have time in my day to add yet one more item to do relative to Active Rain. But when I see a post by a new member that is interesting, I read it, comment on it, and welcome them to the Rain.

I do not get there every day and try to do it as time alllows. My morning is my AR time before anyone gets in and the phone has not started to ring yet.

Like Michael, I go to the First Blog posts and encourage those who have crossed to threshold of actually saying 'HI," those who have actually invested something.

But some of those are so timid they lose the momentum by disabling comments, or they tremble in fear that some will say 'Boo!"

No, it takes up a ton of time getting through the Q&A section and my blog comments as it is.

I used to be active with the AR welcome wagon. These days my time is spent on other things.  I do the best I can with the time and resources I have.
