That is a nice interactive map. I do wonder how they arrive at their numbers as i went into MLS, i searched for single family homes sold in the last 12 months. No condos, no mobiles and no multis and it showed me a number far less than NAR.

Thx. Ours looks understated...showing $541,000, but we are more like $650,000 for median (and I think $800-$850,000 on average). There is a wide range of course town by town, prob ranging from around $300,000-$1.2 million.

IMO - it doesn't look accurate as property location and types play a significant role in median prices!
For example - we have a very large rural area which significantly skews the median price of city homes if you take an average
A rural home can be had for less than $100k while a city home can be had for $150k +
And let's not forget waterfront properties - gulf front $500k + easily for a Single family home
