Im a talk radio junkie and my alarm is set to the local channel for usually good national and local news and events.

I find I am much happier without watching. We do love the CBS Sunday Morning show with Jane Pauley with interesting stories.

I am SO WITH YOU. I find myself recording the news on DVR and fast forwarding through the first 5 - 10 minutes to get to the real news.

Unfortunately, facts do not attract viewers, so we are stuck with the crap we are getting!

Trump has the media so discombobulated they don't know which 'crazy a**' twit to chase and foist upon the citizen who can only respond, "and you call yourself professionals?"

Actually, I hate to say this, so lean close for this whisper, (aljazeera news).

I am serious.

As they do not know how to go out in the field and investigate for news; they now rely on anything sensationalism to get advertising dollars!

I don't watch news, ever. I read online and occasionally read clips that feature a particular subject. TV news is no better than the talking heads on sports channels.

I don't watch news anymore. I do read google news and you can modify it to themes you are interested in.-Kasey

What a cheerful idea for a Sunday morning, Dennis, to ask for news on fires, floods, crimes, etc.! Maybe your local news has that information. I know our local news stations are full of it.

Old fashioned news? hmm maybe get some old recordings of Huntley and Brinkley? I had to google old morning news anchors so not sure if these are accurate 

you'd have to move to a smaller town.  our "local" station" is still pretty old fashioned.  

Dennis - It's difficult for me to watch any news.

I would say go back to 1974.

I use FoxNews now only  - the rest are garbage IMO - also for local news has to be a local station - usually the radio

The last Election proved that most media outlets have an Agenda !

I was a news director at a Bangor ME broadcast facility and made it the who, what, where, etc. Not an opinion, not snarky or with a hidden agenda. The news-maker, topic of the story should get the air time without clever edits to remove what else they also said in the same sentence that was edited out to give a different slant. The one the so called journalist wanted. And bag the commentary on what the talking heads now share on what they think of what you just heard "color". Entertainment, dumbed down is standard fodder now for the masses. I like blogs from average joe and janes who get it, tell it like it is! I trust my neighbor, the local and less the media, the spin from politicians.

I'm so over all the politics that I don't even watch the news stations anymore.

I stay away from the main stream media as of the last year or so......it's just ridiculous.  I do at times watch a few shows on Fox 360 but honestly I'm not all that much into news especially all the drama.

I have no clue - I watch little TV and definitely not in the morning. I don't want to start my day with all the bad news in the world, or locally!

That seems to be the news these days and everything else takes a backseat. I try not to watch any of it. If you want international news, try the BBC but you may get some Trump on that too.

I agree, but Trump has created a new and different White House.... you have to admit!!!! 

I like GMA (Good Morning America), but only for the news, not the screaming crowds. CNN gets very tiresome.

Try BBC News, NPR and basically any non-American news network.  Usually more accurate too!

This would be impossible these days, possibly find old TV, that might give impression of old fashion way of watching it. 

I do not know.  News is not something I want flooding my head and thoughts.
