I'm kind of divided on this. If they're really really good at their craft, their appearance 'shouldn't' matter. And yet we know perception is reality. Then again, that unusual approach could actually stand out. It could also be a turn-off. I suppose the only meaningful question is 'how's business?' If it works for him, all right.

Yes you know who the average age is of a realtor but that doesn't mean that he doesn't or desires too. No I would not listen to a grunger personally unless he was talking about web design, analytics etc. 

Like Candice said, they can be a car mechanic & do a video in an ok looking professional shirt as long as he comes across as knowing what he's talking about or tells you his passion (clean surroundings).

I think unsolicited advice is often unwelcome. If they have success doing what they are doing, then the work conditions obviously work for them.

Maybe start a private dialog and see what their business goal and target market is.  Offer advice if they are willing to take it.  Maybe they are targeting who they want to, like you said, or maybe they don't want to have to "change" to be successful and therefore are fine with the business they get for being who they are.  For example, one of my husband's online photos is him in his hunting gear (also with longer-ish hair).  He has had people choose him specifically BECAUSE of that photo, but I am also sure he has lost business from people that were horrified by it.  It isn't a "professional" photo, but it is who he is, and we like to present ourselves how we are.  We don't wear suits and ties and we never will, so people will take us or leave us.  If someone told me I need to present myself differently I would tell them that we have been top agents in our Valley for years and we aren't going to change, but thanks for the advice. -Kasey

AR is a place for advice and it's often not received well, so I'd say unless you have a polite opening, leave it. It's like the gym rule, I can see a guy doing it wrong, heading for injury, but, gym code or "guy code" is look away. Smart? NO! but ooooh baby the comments if you do speak up ain't worth it.

Maybe it's part of his image?  Like the "Tattooed Realtor" or Malibu's "Pink Lady".  Can't just assume it's indeptitude on his part, could be calculated.  Could also be bat-quano crazy and high as a kite too!
