Isn't this like my time at Woodstock in 1969!

I've wanted to go for many, MANY years.  Grew up listening to the Lords of Acid who regularly played there.  I hear it's changed a bit since the 2000s though.  I think I'm a bit too straight laced to be allowed in though.  They'd probably think I'm a narc.

I am not that young man, anymore. 

I would be regularly searching for portapotties, bottled water, have a curious rash, and open to leaving early.

I've seen that Ted Talk before, good stuff. We watch a  lot of Ted Talks in my CEO group. I would never attend though, not into crowds that size unless I'm on stage, and the only one on stage there, gets set on fire. It's an amazing concept and even more amazing that they do what no concert or sporting event seems to be able to pull off.

Not a fan of roasting in the hot sun of the desert, but if you would like to collaborate over a cup of coffee, I am in.

Btw, I clicked on the video, and have watched other vids from this before.

I know of people who have gone to Burning Man and really enjoyed it. Personally, I think I would rather climb a mountain and take photos.

Maybe 30 years ago but I will read with delight your tales of fun and freedom.

I have knowledge of Burning Man. It happens just north of where I live. I've been to huge concert venues, huge art festivals and other crazy mind-altering gatherings with beings from this and other planets. Burning Man is not on my bucket list. That much roughing it doesn't appeal to me at this time in my life. Now, having said that if I was to go to Burning Man and I could take anybody with me . . . ANYONE? Hunter S Thompson. And I would definitely have my affairs in order before I left. 3:)

What's a burning man and why should I care?

I am not sure who I would take given the options.. perhaps someone that encompassed several of the characteristics 

I imagine it would be "entertaining" to people watch but I have no desire to sit in the desert heat just for that.

Someone with whom I would enjoy spending the time.

I would take.... No one - not interested in that any more - I guess I grew up and out of it

I clicked.  Never heard of it, but it does sound like an enormous amount of fun...when the events are smaller.  I don't find a gathering of more than 5000-7000 very appealing.  After that, I suspect there needs to be some significant organizing or planning in advance.  That kind of defeats the best part for me.

Who would I take?  Probably anyone who wanted to go.  No point taking anyone else, lol.

Annette - I don't think I would participate in Burning Man. It is not my type of event, and I think I would feel really old and out of place if I did go.

Not my thing. My life is very full and have a bucket list of things that take priority. 

I know about BurningMan.  My son has attended several times.  It is just not my thing ... some traditions carry on without me.

I do like watching the videos of the event but i think i like my sand to come with an ocean attached.
