The login screen states the number of AR members is approximately 290,000 (it gives an exact number).  This is quite different than 5,000 members.

10's of thousands have had some level of activity here beyond a profile.  I miss some folks who have been here, I invite new folks all the time.

Yes, but how many of them are actually active, versus students, versus accounts from PropertyUp, RealBird, etc. that offer listing blog postings.

Active Rain or active in Active Rain?  If it's the first, there's around 268,000 registered members.  As far as active, you can look at point standings but that doesn't tell you who are the active ones.  And define active.  Posts or loginins in the past ___ days?

That is dismal considering how many members it claims to have (250,000-300,00).

Many of my favorite people are no longer active...

I had no idea... how to do determine "active?"

I thought it was more.

Of course most are inactive, and many never did more than just sign up.

But how many of them are actually active? I've been checking agents in my leader board and many do not post anything for years. 

I did not now that.  It feels at times that there are only maybe a 100 or so of us 

Hmmm...what kind of research did you have to do to find this out? I know that AR claims to have something like 280K members, but we all know many of them aren't active.

I guess I have a lot of upside to attract more agent to follow me and I guess I should follow them

I am aware of 50 active members in the Q&A section.

I have no clue regarding who has published a blog in the past 90 days (a liberal interpretation of active)

Others have mentioned a bone yard of Groups who have the light on but no one is home.

Five thousand. That is a good number and should be a great representation of the diversity of thought and models within the real estate industry.

I think most agents wander over here some time to check it out. But in my community, most of them have under 100,000 points so they don't see the value in it. I wonder how many Rainmaker accounts there are? That would be a more accurate number of who is really here. Or maybe that is what you meant. (BTW, I am impressed too!)

That number does seem high (I realize that the great majority of the 250K plus are not active in any way).

'Active' can be an elusive definition.
