I don't typically put them in posts, but I do use them in social media.  We'll have to test tomorrow to see you can access it.

I don't use shortlinks and I don't click on them. Mainly because I'm not sure where they really do go and don't want to open up something that might mess up my phone or computer.

Is that true for all short URLs or the AR ones?

(The good news is that this is a non issue for me on FB and Pinterest).  It's only on hootsuite scheduling (for Tw/LI/G+).  But, I still share manually at least 1 on all of those.

That is all it takes, one spoofed email with a reassigned link to install ransom-ware.

Make it SEF worthwhile, keep it spelling out what it links too...URL handling is tricky beyond avoiding dreaded 404's needing 301 redirects. Don't lessen their precision. Good point you make Liz and Bill Spear !

Thanks.  Most of these web filtering devices can be bypassed by going to the secure version of the website (at least they used to be with default configurations).  Google's secure the web initiative may have bollocksed that up though.

Good tip. I do not click on short links due to security risks. If I do accidentally, my internet security software will scan the website for malware.
