Often at the last minute.  I have two today to complete for the end of the year.

I always intend to do it in advance, but I end up doing it at the last moment. One year, I submitted proof of completion of continuing education with minutes to spare before my license expired. 

We renew our licenses every two years so I try to take my CE classes the first year after renewal so I have a year to spare. 

If I am being proactive it is about six months. If I am being myself it is about a month!

I like to have me CE completed by the end of September each year, It's a good feeling to do this and it also frees you up for a good run the last the 3 months each year !!

Usually the final 2 weeks

I start as far in advance as possible...like to get it out of the way early so there is no problem in case of an emergency comes up. Learned that lesson the hard way one year when I let it go till the last minute and finished just under the deadline. Never again...

This is an interesting question Shahar.  I like to start and complete my CE classes in just one month. Ideally, late spring/summer is ideal for me since this is our off-season compared to winter when it's very busy.

Barely .... just made my CE in ethics for the end of the year. Finished on the 21st or something like that.

a few months before needed

Usually not far enough. This time around for Illinois, 3 months in advance to get it over with!

I always finish at least one year ahead of time. I also have more hours than needed because it is about education.

I'm usually done 7-9 months prior to the year's deadline. With one of the required courses being an update on new laws and contracts, it's important to know that information asap.

I seem to be doing them about 6-8 months before they are due to be complete.

Weekend before they are due

Our CE can be taken at any time during the two year period immediately prior to the licence renewal date.

I just took 12 hours online since CAR provides us with 12 free CE class opportunities, per year.

I take then months beofre they are due or needed as I like to be prepared.

In Cali we can't start until 6 months before the expiration.

I obtain designations

I take them in January, contrast normally change the first of the year.

I'm usually a photo finish online with that one!!!

As early as possible, especially if it's a topic of interest to me; I don't wait until last minute.

My company offers them for free, so I try to get them finished as quickly as my schedule permits.

It depends.

It depends if there is something that comes along that is interesting I take advantage as it appears. As for CE typically I complete it a month or two prior most of the time.

I take classes that interest me, and sometimes take way over the needed hours.

I never really plan on when to take them. They just happen and I always have more than enough credits, because I like to stay on top of the new issues and rules in my state. 

I like doing it mid-year.  Our EOY is just insanely busy here so, waiting until the last minute is very scary to me!

When ever I can fit them into my schedule. if push comes to shove my license renews in January so I squeeze them in.. I have 2 left to do. 

 It differs from state to state ....
