My engineering job actually enforces a "take vacation or work from home" week this week.  They turn down the thermostat at the campus and save some money on utilities.  I suspect most are like me, on vacation and not working from home since new emails are virtually nil this week.

And the person I needed an answer from at Kentucky Real Estate Commission has an "out of office" through Jan 3.  Bill

As well as loan officers and appraisers not available when there are buyers who need to close. 

We have 4 rehabs going on and no slow downs from our crews.

I respect that . . .   there is more to life than work!  (even though it is inconvenient upon occasion)

The lender on my active escrow is on vacation all week... and the loan contingency is supposed to be removed Friday.

Yes, everyone is on the 'it's a holiday bandwagon'.

Actually we had a plubing problem right before we left our Florida condo yesterday with a week's tenant moving in that afternoon. We called in the moring and the plumber had it fixed before Noon.

Just like Santa; keeping a list of each and checking it twice.

I plan for this eventuality, so can't say I've actually had an issue. And fortunately, have not had any emergencies requiring attention from these trades.
