It's the opposite for me. I have people that need to get into space or liquidate something before the end of the year and it's go time.

That is a philosophy for someone that needs a crutch.  I know that today in the Dallas area someone is going to buy or sell a house.  I just need to find that person.

I think it slows down because the agents slow down thinking it's going to slow down because of the holidays. LOL  

 I always kind of liked the so-called "slow season" because serious buyers and sellers were still in the market.  

actually, December has always been a very busy month for us..... homes are beautifully staged reflecting the holiday....

In Colorado, many buyers do not want to move in December for fear of snowy weather.

Not for us! Santa is a pick me up in my state of AZ!  Just look at this jolly man! He's a client of ours and we love Santa Bob!

It just hit me!  You're talking about the real estate business.

Our market typically slows down around the holidays although this year I'm still rockin and rollin. It's busy out there. I do look forward to extra time with family and friends around the holiday. 

I am not seeing a slowdown. I have been focusing on listings and sellers are ready to list now, before Christmas. Maybe it is regional.

Americans are addicted to buying trinkets an other crap, and Christmas is their excuse to binge.

Usually a santa claus rally out here.  People want to be in before xmas.

Decembers are crazy in Charlotte - the banks do their re-assignments/transfers throughout the month of November.  So, there are some serious buyers during December!  Now, if only we had some inventory!

It's the best time to list.  Only dead serious buyers out then.

Most people are way too busy to look for new homes,and many do not want to sell at this time of year. This about this...if you are looking to sell,do you really want a Agent and possible buyers going in and out of your home during the holidays? Most sellers do not even want to move before Christmas at this time of year,especially if they have children. In the mortgage business,many of us take off until after the New Year,although we still answer calls and will certainly do a deal.

We have to supply him with presents to bring and cookies to eat.

They now come to town in self driving Teslas.  Santa just got a collision ticket. Forgot to download the latest patch.

Rudolf went to assistant living last year. Everything is automated. Reindeer costs too much to feed.  

I think there's a couple of reasons: 1. people just get focused on the holiday and travel plans, so they don't even consider buying or selling a home; 2. most people don't want to move during the holidays.

It's like a friend of mine has made it an annual myth that there are no contracts written during the State Fair of Oklahoma. It becomes a sell fulfilling prophecy. I could care less.

It's a state of mind.  I'm open for business. 

People just trying to be different consumers but not in real estate lol.

People are thinking about things other than buying and selling homes - and many agents take time off themselves.

I always say a new home is a perfect Christmas gift. But many families are focused on family. I have to say it is a good break from the 12-14 hour days

Guess folks forget about the important things in life that are major issues the rest of the year.

The only way it slows down is when we have an advisory like today; cancellations galore!
