I have not encountered any issues or problems dealing with water shares or water rights in my practice. This may have an impact on those in more rural areas.

Water rights is serious and no laughing matter.

Water has rights. Water has the right to be free and to flow wherever and whenever it wants to. Water has been imprisoned and frozen in glaciers for a millennium. Water is lobbying for an acceleration of global warming so the glaciers will melt and enable water to exercise its rights to free movement.

You really need to know exactly what shares and how much water that is that is being transferred with the property. We deal with irrigation water a lot in my area. This evening I showed a property that had a domestic well. Now that water isn't used for the house, but only allocated to do up to two acres outside of the house. This is an 83 acre parcel.

You will learn this stuff and know who to contact when you have to deal with water issues.
