Buyers are holding back because they think these super low interest rates will go on forever and don't realize how much home prices have risen. Sellers worry they can't find something else to replace the home they are selling.

The way I see it...everything will break loose, no matter who wins. We are living in a very uncertain time. Did you hear that half of our population plans to move to Canada after the election?

I believe most are concerned about interest rates and they are waiting to see what happens. In some cases it's just a good excuse to sit on the fence.

I'm not seeing it too much out here.  There is always some hesitation around these events.  Should be interesting to see if there is any rioting in the streets when Trump gets elected, as so many say they'll do.  Personally, I can't wait for the hollyweird elite to move to Canada.  But why don't they want to go to Mexico?  It's closer afterall.

Good morning Aaron,

With elections coming up, many people are uncertain of the changes that might take place. It could be a big reason for holding back. We can be certain that the coming of the Lord is near.

As far as reasons go, there can be many.

As far as predictions, I don't have a crystal ball.

As far as real estate, real buyers buy and real sellers sell.

This is true regardless of political affiliation.

And there is proof of it everyday.

Many are very concerned that the ecomony will falter with the wrong candidate. People still do need a roof over their head, but they need to make sure they can afford that roof.

There is NO doubt people are holding off and mostly I see it from sellers. People are scared and when you peel back the media fluff, it is all about comparing economic plans, tax increase or decreases, national and local safety and how to fix health care bringing down skyrocketing costs. Depending who wins we could head quickly into another recession as the economy is on life support but no one is paying attention

FOBO - as the commercial explains.

Buyers disappointed they missed the boat on foreclosures 6 years ago are hoping to get another grab at the golden ring. Fear of better options has them waiting as they continue to read others talk about bubbles. They were afraid to buy six years ago, and should a bubble break, they will have no additional courage to buy in the future.

Historically, real estate get hot when costs get high. Interest rates going up will stimulate buyers and sellers. Ironic to say the least.

Elections? I think folks are 'over-it' and want to end this circus and get on with their lives. They are 'so over it' know one cares to want to understand what the other side is saying....anymore.  Over it!
