Hello Tony & Suzanne
I have been a glazier (glass installer) for 40+ years and this seems to be quite a new term in the glass world. I use to do residential glazing 10-20 years ago but most of my work now is on huge commercial sky scrappers.
Glazing bars give the appearance of astragals within the window. Depending on your design preference there is the option of Applied Bars or Internal Bars.
Broxwood Internal Glazing Bars
Integrated glazing bars offer the look of traditional glazing with astragals but with no need for maintenance. The bars are fitted within the glazing unit making it easy to clean and yet give the appearance of Georgian style glazing. There are a variety of colors available to match the exterior colors of the windows and doors.
Broxwood Applied Glazing Bars with Optional Spacer
If you want your windows and doors to have the ultimate look of the old-style narrow Glazing Bars in combination with the modern double glazed units, then the Broxwood Applied Glazing Bars system is the answer. The glazing bar is bonded to the outside and inside of the glazing unit and for the ultimate effect, an aluminum spacer can be incorporated into the glazing unit.

Glazing has to do with glass/windows so the bar could be a separator or bar to hold it in place.

I am guessing something to do with window installation. Only because Robert Vegas Bob Swetz states often as being a 'glazzier' (sp?). Mark
