ActiveRain is the biggest part of my social media strategy. Most posts are shared via Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook(occasionally). Contacts I receive typically say "I found you online" typically without identifying the actual source.

I agree with Michael Jacobs and like how ActiveRain posts can also be shared with other social media platforms.

Generally a very good impact, mostly blogging with posts shared on the major social media platforms.

I'm sure I don't do enough but, FB is part of how I keep up with my sphere, most of which are past clients and/or friends/family. So, we keep up with each other there. Other than that, I don't have enough time to do all that I'm seeing others do but, I'm happy with the results of what I do have time to do myself without having to pay someone to 'be me' and do it for me! I'll never be able to do that!

I dabble at it, but haven't really seen any major impact on my business.

Active Rain and Facebook are my two main places. I do some cursory posts to twitter and g+. Have seen minor impact so far.

Karen,
I also like Michael Jacobs response. When people say they found you online, that means that all of your marketing has come together to create a perfect storm.
I do recommend to our clients that they focus on 1 or 2 social networks and only do them. For one year at least. It is too easy to spend WAY too much time on social networks that isn't productive.
Every year evalute what is working and what isn't and adjust accordingly. If you switch too often, you are wasting time.

I am not a big user of social media other than blogging on my WordPress sites and in AR. All posts are tweeted, sent to my WP Business page and LinkedIn.

I use all social media that I can use consistently, therefore I do not use all social media. It helps me add a layer into the the time honored tools I use for marketing & prospecting.

Facebook and landing pages.
What am I doing to make it better? Keeping it fresh.
Have you seen am impact? Well, let me say I intend to keep with Facebook and landing pages. Watch for my blog coming this week. It may have Facebook in the title.

Tough to say, because there are so many social network platforms, I ask myself, "Is this effort worthwhile and is it diluted?"

I think consistency is important & you have to decide where you want to put your efforts. All is not a good way to go about it. Pay attention to the platforms that you like.

Yes..AR, Wordpress Blog and then share those and my site all over...twitter, LinkedIn, FB Business & Personal, Google +, Pinterest...Those are the main ones. Don't use any others though. ROI is hard to pinpoint. I've run FB ads, didn't see anything from those. It is like most marketing, keeping your face/info at the top of everyone's minds so they think to call us. I have a lot of return clients and a steady flow (30%) that come from my internet presence, so I think it is working.

I've been using pinterest more. Here's an article I wrote with some pinterest tips.
