The best camera is the one in the hands of the professional photographer
But seriously, before I switched to a professional I used a wide angle on my SLR camera.

Thers is no " best". Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Sony, Panasonic, etc all make cameras that would take quality photos for real estate. Are you going to be shooting video as well? Wide angle is ok to a point, but don't distort photos so much that the walls look like they are 12" out of plumb. Lighting is also important. Best thing to do is set a max price you want to spend, then start from there narrowing your choices.

Don't look to me for answers... I don't own a camera (except the one in my phone) and each and every one of my listings for 18 years has been professionally photographed.

Nikon, Canon with a zoom lens. One can find good quality cameras at Costco,
I have a 18-55 mm basic and a fisheye lens for 1/2 bath. The wide angle is a must for most rooms as one wants to cover as much areal as possible, The flast light(S) needs to be of high quality as lighting from camera flash is not adequate for larger homes. It goes without saying the lens UV filter, caps, special lens hood to deflect income rays are just as important.

A wide angle lens is good for getting room shots. There are many camera choices available. Find one with a wide angle that you like, and can use.

I use Nikon DSLRs with a 12-24 lens. Remember, it is not just a matter of clicking a photo. Lots more to it from set-up, lighting, adjustments of camera, and of course, software for editing with the proper training and workflow.

There are many factors to consider when choosing the "best camera" and wide angle lens for your application.

Compare the offerings on the Canon website and then check pricing on Amazon. Much relates to the amount you wish to spend.

Oh please, not another wide angle lens...so many agents in my market use fish lens or something. All the photos are distorted, and while they look "contemporary" they do not flatter the home.

I use a nikon D5100 and DO NOT use a wide angle lens. I have had many clients upset becaue the pictures did not represent the home and have walked out without seeing the entire home

Fuji is a wonderful camera brand... wide angle is part of the eye candy recipe, but sensitive for low lighting situations in homes without the lighting and your angle, quantity of images posted all create the photo buzz. Ask Santa for one, he flies in three days.

I always looked at it this way... My camera was about $850 not including any special lens. My photographers camera is about $5,000 not including any special lens. They have the camera's, the lens, the programs for HD photography, the knowledge to make my listings look amazing & at the end of the day I'm a great Realtor - They are great photographers. It's a great combination!!

I use a wide angle lens and Canon cameras. They give me control and I do not fully extend the lens so it will not distort the frame.

Wide angle is my preferred. These days my camera phone is better than most point and shoots out there, so I use that.
