the more well-versed I become with its use, the more my phone rings.... it has more to do with my ability to use it more efficiently....

Connections, exposure, opinions, information and expanded relationships through our posts and links. I'm blown away how much social media adds $$$ to the bank account and added responsibility to what we post.

Blogging has kept the phone ringing and social media use helped take my biz to the next level. 

Have not seen any critical changes on my business.

Anything that involves people brings a type of cause & effect

You take the good along with the bad.   

I had my doubts at first, but have found that it does make the phone ring.

Mostly for me ... its a distraction from what works for me ... and that is my WordPress sites.  

Keeps you in the loop, helps you follow trends, informs you of new technology.

Apart from AR...not much...

Keeps some of us on our toes; leaves others behind.

I have learned a lot on active rain.

It depends on your personal business practices.

There was no social media marketing about a decade ago - and now...

You have the ability to interact with a lot of people at once.

I got a call from a referral who'd heard about me from a friend, and by the time he'd called, he knew all about me from Google, and my blog.

It makes us accessible all times of the day and night. They report if it is a good or bad experience and it can affect future business.

You have to change and evolve with social media. 

Well I work for a real estate school, so we have a different perspective than most here. Since we offer a product that people are typically directly searching for sites like Yelp end up being a big factor. But our challenges are to get the social media engagement we need to turn old students into advocates for new students. The better we do, the more potential students who choose us over a competitor. We rarely convince someone who isn't interested in real estate to give it a shot, we compete for those who want in. 

It requires us to take telephone calls from all over the World.

I don't get much of a change from it, but I'm still relatively new to it (less than 2 years).  I get awareness and backlinks.  I have some possible business opportunities from it, but those are several months in the future.

It does, and it can. I know it has helped not only myself, but also my Agents. It brings in additional buyer leads and great advertisement.
