I was looking at it the other day and was advised to go to a seafood place in town that has been closed for a few months.

I never really used it so it never had any impact for me.

I don't think the "SEO benefit", if any is really relevant.  I believe the potential benefit was putting your location on the map if you had lots of checkins at your store.  I don't think that's really relevant for most realtors (unless you are a broker owner).

If others feel that way then it may be done for.

It was very popular a couple years back or so but that seems to have changed. Everybody seemed to be checking in. Not sure about SEO, but value may be the tips you get on various places to dine, shop, visit, etc. but they may be outdated

It's pretty much yesterday's news.  I still see malls with "Mayor of Foursquare" parking spaces (hint: in California there is no vehicle code section designating these, so you can feel free to use them... just like the expectant mother spots).  I have never seen the point of "checking in" at an office.

Is that the check in app? I use to be into that then they changed to "Swarm" and I didn't like it.

I haven't heard much about FourSquare lately.  It must be old now.

Swarm seems to have given FourSquare some new life and the location based system is far more accurate than before.  The "Leave a Tip" feature can help you make some connections especially if you have left a lot of tips about locations or businesses.

I don't hear this mentioned anymore so guess it has had its glory days and they are over.
