I'd bring the muffins... I think keeping the hot crab dip hot could be problematic at a picnic.

Both sound delicious! People usually love the dips so that's what I would take.

What you bring is much less important than your presence, either will do just fine.

Dip sounds pretty good to mean. Muffins, unless small, are pretty filling

Well, I would like either Will Hamm.  I think it depends if it's 'easy' to make something hot (like the dip) and have it remain so once you are there, and people start to eat.  Of course if you are making it there, then that's not an issue!  The muffins are made ahead and would not have to be out-of-the-oven, especially in hot weather, they could be room-temperature.  Good Luck on deciding, as both would be Winners to me!!

I would make mini crab cheese muffins - easier to eat and handle, not as messy.  Both sound delish!

I would go for the dip but make it a cool dip if it is hot outside. 

Hot crab dip, a lot of people are gluten free now so the muffins might not work.

Both sound good...depends on if there is a way to keep the dip hot. If they are mini muffins, they would not be too heavy or need heating. Where I live, neither would work at this time of year, too heavy for our climate.
