Of course it is not true. What is true is that we are expected to treat customers as though they are right.  We certainly don't want to treat customers like they are wrong.

On rare occasions when a client pulls this out and insists on their way, I just explain that they may be right, but they are no longer my customer.  We often have good reasons, legal and ethical reasons why we can't do what someone wants. When this happens, if they insist they can just go elsewhere.

Whether the customer is right or not, if you want to "make him wrong" it could cost you - in my market you could be talking about tens of thousands of dollars in a brokerage fee you don't earn while being right.
