I have been on GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar as an attendee multiple times and they seem pretty comparable

I attend a lot of the gotowebinar meetings, works well, some of the others fight with firefox too much.

I would really prefer that most of these were just posted on a reliable simple platform like Youtube though.

I don't have any recommendations for alternatives, but I've always had good experiences with gotomeeting, as an attendee and a host.

I am a speaker as a guest on a lot of gotowebinar webinars. I use gotowebinar to host my own webinars. They have issues but have gotten better over the years. I always had hoped for a good competitor to come into the marketplace but no one has been better as of yet. The pros are that they are most reliable and less wonky than others. The cons are you can have tech issues especially recording and it is expensive. But Google hangouts is horrific! So you get what you pay for. I can't recommend alternatiives unless I know what your goal is in the use of the platform. If it is just calling and a couple of people, then Skype is the best alternative. On my mac I found a call screen recorder for Skype. So you can record both video and audio calls and both. Katerina

They are one(GotoWebinar) of the top, why do you want an alternative?

Never had any problems. Some people like going G Hangouts just for a visual conference call type of thing.

I've been on the attendee side of Gotomeeting & webinar.  Seemed to work fine for me.  I've been on a couple others over the years, but I can't remember who they were.  Best bet would be to google "best platform to host a webinar"

Yes, I have been an "attendee is listen only mode."  LOL.  I honestly don't know if there are any advantages/disadvantages to any of them.

I have used these and think they work well. I have een the presenter and attendee. The cost is so reasonable. I think there are other ways to engage too depending what you are trying to do. I tend to like Periscope if you want interaction and a question and answer type session.

Yes. If you want to be a speaker there got to be reasons people want to sign up...

Giving away listings like reo you get more audience.
