Always better than a pink!

I find stainless and black combination appliances to be common in many homes.   I have them in MY home too.   Perhaps a combination is appropriate for your home as well.

It depends on the taste.  I happen to not like the stainless steel look and my ideal kitchen would have La Cornue appliances in color.  They are beautiful to look at.  A

Stainless is what everyone seems to be asking for these days. But I've found if it's not stainless, buyers will "live" with black.

Black is still acceptable with stainless the more popular choice. Slate is now making a run!

Good morning Roy. From time to time I will use black appliances, folks are always saying they love the look.

We put black in many of our rental units but for our upper end properties it is always stainless or if we are trying to attract a buyer.

I have heard that people are sick of Stainless Roy, that is what we have.

BTW they have new stainless finishes that do not smudge so easily, they are coated in some way.

We are due for new appliances and I thought I wanted stainless until I saw the new "Sunset Bronze" and "Slate" colors and now am undecided. I wlll be following the answers. Great question!

As far as I can tell, black and brushed Stainless Steel are still the winners.

I see black appliances in my area. I think stainless probably has more widespread buyer appeal. 

I hope so... because that's what we have in our kitchen.

It is in our market but stainless is in more demand. We just purchased new appliances and my Bride insisted on white because she hates to see the finger prints on either stainless or black.

Black is acceptable, but stainless steel is much more popular and preferred by more buyers.  Also, the lighter color makes your space look larger.

Not in my market (or my house) my first place I bought (in 1994 no less!) I put a black refrigerator in it.  I left it when I sold the place.  Most everything I see today is stainless and that is what I put in as well.  It was a toss up for the stove though, to go with a pop of color but in the end I kept it all the same.  If you are going to sell it, then I would put in stainless otherwise get what you like.

The newest color is black stainless BTW. I have not seen it 'in person'.

No for me.  I am seeing new construction using black ... and most of my clients pay for the upgrade to something ... well ... different. 

No.  All kitchen renos I've seen are stainless.  Older kitchen appliances in black the first thing my buyers say is "those have to go."

Haven't seen it in any NEW kitchen renovations...

Stainless seems to be on the way "out" in my market, combinations of black/stainless are popular and even white is making a strong comeback, go figure.

The most popular is Stainless. I still see black as second favorite and even some white. I have a new listing with yellow/mustard. They could be collectors items.

Stainless/black combo.  I would love to update my kitchen with red or teal appliances. 

Any color is acceptable to me, as long as it works.

I still see black appliances in my area.  I think if you are looking to sell, updating the appliances, however, would be great.

It is in Oklahoma City. On new construction if it isn't stainless steel it is black.

All in the eye of the beholder. I have encountered many clients who still prefer black to the look of stainless.

Harvest Gold and Avacado are due to come back into style! But black can be ok depending on other colors in the kitchen like the floor, counter tops, and cabinets. If floor, counters, and cabinets ar dark, I would go with Stainless or a light color appliance.

Acceptable?  Sure, if it looks good and functions well.

It is a growing color in my market with Brushed Stainless a close 2nd

Black is beautiful.  The surrounding decor should be kept light and airy.
