I used ProtedMyID which helped me when someone stole my identity in GA about 1.5years back. They were extremely helpful, told me the in's & out's & even wrote letters for me to clarify my position.
It's best to get a system that emails you whenever your report changes - addition or subtraction. That way you will catch it the fastest.

Yes, I use lifelock, yes I've had my identy stolen (years before lifelock existed) and it took me about 2 years to straighten it all out and thousands in attorney fees. My credit report still has addresses I never lived I can't get them to remove because MY actual credit card bill was mailed to them. You'd think they would understand it was by the theif and remove it, but since my score is not affected I finally just let that go.

No it is expensive and I do not think worth it.

I would not use that company, Google for more info. I use a credit freeze procedure...no constant checking or worry needed.

No, I have not used it, but see their commercials all the time.

NO I am just very careful to shred everything with my name and address on it.

No. My E and O company has identity theft protection for a very cheap rate. I buy that each year.

My husband and I both have LifeLock. I attended a security workshop a couple of years ago and the instructor said these are things we can do ourselves, but do we? I like the idea that an entity is looking out for me because I am busy selling real estate.

I haven't, mainly due to the fee. No other insurance than any coverage with the credit cards

I have thought about subscribing to an identify theft service, but have not done so yet. I do, however, get mobile alerts from my bank on any suspicious activity.
Here is a short article from Bankrate.com on 3 mobile alerts everyone should activate with their banks.

I have not but plan to do so. I have used those credit monitoring companies that LifeLock makes fun of so I'm ready to try the real deal. As Realtors we get a 10% discount (which I think everyone and their monkey gets anyhow).

No. Lifelock was sued for their business practices. They charge you for doing what you can do for free. Even the CEO had his SSN stolen after his balsy ads on TV with the SSN on it.

Good morning Judith. I have worked with many clients that have had their identity stolen, it takes a while to work through the issue.
