I would check the ActiveRain LeaderBoard for agents who work and are experienced in the Tampa area.   Not all agents will work with a tenant client but he/she should be able to give you some local options.   Good luck.

I would search Google for independent property managers in Tampa. Then I would go to Yelp to see if I can find reviews. I might also ask the property manager for some people who could give testimony to the quality of communication and taking care of problems quickly. I would also ask probing and telling questions. I know with my property managers I recommend they have subs that can go on weekends and holidays for serious problems like air conditioning breaking down on 100 degree days even if it is Sunday. If they have that then that is a good indication of a quality manager.

What Michael Jacobs said.  I have referred clients looking for rentals to an AR member ... it worked out beautifully. 

I'd find someone here on AR that you could refer to. That person would know the best resources and could help your co-worker

Depending on her needs Craigslist can also be a good resource for local rentals. I never recommend it for home sales but for rentals it can be very effective.

Hi Ed, unless she's in the luxury price point Craigslist most likely will suffice.  Be careful with tenants unless you are the listing agent they can burn alot of time with limited to no $

The MLS, hotpads, zillow, trulia, realtor.com, apartments.com   Those are some I've given my friends lately.  The MLS doesn't have many options out here, but the others have tons of listings.  I get around 6-10 requests to rent one of my rental houses each day from Zillow.

Craigslist exists because of rental home listings.  Also try there, but beware of scammers.

Good advice here to choose an ActiveRainer that works in that area and  handles rentals. Otherwise, I might suggest Craigslist for rentals by owner.
