Do you know that in New Jersey, water is considered a hazardous chemical and requires an MSDS?

sorry, I am not going to try to drink that much water; I would need to be walking around in Depends.  Whoops!   I have a leak!

I've always been a big believer in the importance of drinking water.  It is great for you both inside and out! (your skin will thank you for it!) I would consume half my body weight each day for sure but I'm not one to carry bottles around with me. 

well if you are suppose to drink half your weight in water then the national average of people should weigh 68lbs and with obesity at its highest we all know thats not true

They must not be including beer and Gray Goose!

I guessed much lower.  Do all non alchohlic beverages count?

With obesity on the rise I think it has to be a lot more.

Conrad Allen I thought it was a low number, but not this low.

The tricky part is that means liquid...and many may not report juice, etc in that number.  But, even so, I think most of us (myself included) should be drinking more water.

Then why do they say 34 onces if it is under what we need?  Oh, that's right, they need to hire 5 more people to correct this mistake!  LOL A

I think the powers that be will soon be changing this recommendation.

I drink water and organic tea all day long.  If I leave my house and forget my water bottle (never plastic) I will return to get it. 

I do not think I drink enough water, but certainly drink more than 34 ounces a day, plus a variety of other liquids!

Good morning Conrad. I  would never follow advice when it comes to my body. It will let me know how much I need.

That's too little for most adults even if they are not sweating or execising that day.

I just heard from a doctor ( with a big name) that all that ''must drink that much'' are made up so they sell more to you. I kind of support that idea, since every one of us has different needs in food and liquid.

I was close with 32!  Yay!   I drink on average 1.5-2 gallons per day.  Earlier this week, I did that before lunch.  Just love the taste.  Cold water though.  Has to be cold.  And yes, I know about electrolytes and I take precautions.  I also workout a lot, and drinking lots of water is required as part of that (muscles need water to build).  Plus, you need water to properly digest food.

Does iced tea count as water? 

I tend to drink a lot of water. I'm never without it. Although most people I know don't drink that much water. 

I do drink a lot more than that.

I think drinking at least eight glasses a day is important, so I carry a water bottle with me.

wow really, I am behind,  does beer or wine count?

I start my day with 18 ounces and would hit the national average within the hour.  Sad. 

No.

I drink 6-8  glasses or bottle of water a day.  I also pee a lot.  Then it's vodka time.
