Air is not a pure substance but a mixture of different gases. It is composed of approximately 78 percent nitrogen and 21 percent oxygen, with small amounts of about a dozen other gases making up the remainder. So, science disagrees TeamCHI - Complete Home Inspections, Inc..  And since oxygen depends on water in part, to be created, I'll agree to disagree that my water answer was in part, correct. Pure water is a pure substance because only water molecules are present. Water is a compound. It is made up of hydrogen and oxygen ions that have bonded together to form a new substance that is chemically different from either of its constituent elements.

Thank you for the answer.  I said. AIR and WATER so I appreciate the validation.  My husband with EMS for years said Oxygen and Blood because with out them functioning, death is imminent.  So we were both right but don't tell him that.  He'll gloat all night.  LOL.

My family is the most important for me. My son just came for a vacation and I'm truly enjoying family time together.
